Frequently Asked Questions
You can add your medicines by clicking + from the Home screen or My Medications screen
Medication Name, Medication Type, Dose and Frequency. Reminder Schedules is also mandatory if you use any Frequency other than "Only As Needed".
To edit your medicine, navigate to My Medications screen by clicking the medicines icon from the home screen. Once you are on My Medications screen, swipe left or click on the double left arrows on the medicine that you want to edit. Click on the edit button to edit your medicine. If you want to save your changes you must click the Save button once you are done editing your medicine.
Say you are taking one Metformin 500mg pill in the morning at 8 AM and again in the evening at 7 PM. When adding Metformin, you specify your dose as 1 and for frequency, change it from 1 (the default frequency) to 2 by clicking on the “+” button. DoseSage suggests different times for morning and evening which you can easily change by clicking on the suggested time and changing it to your desired time.
To suspend your medicine, navigate to My Medications screen. Edit the medicine you want to suspend. Click on the Suspend and provide suspend details. To resume reminders, edit the medicine for which you want to resume reminders. Click on Resume .
You will treat each dosage as a separate medication and enter it as a new medication following the steps indicated.
For ex. say you take 2 Metformin 500 mg in the morning (total of 1000mg) and 1 at night (500mg). You could set up a reminder for the different doses at the times you take them and name them with the dose specified. Metformin 1000 mg at 8:00am and Metformin 500 mg at 7:00pm
To add medicines that are a combination of two drugs or more, it is recommended that you specify the two ingredient strengths. For example, Caduet 10/20 which is a combination of two medications, amlodipine and atorvastatin can be created by naming the Medicine as Caduet and specifying the strength as 10/20. Alternatively, don’t specify any values for the strength field and name the Medicine as Caduet 10/20.
Navigate to My Medications screen. Edit the medicine which you want to delete. Click on the Delete Button to delete it.
It is important to track the medicines that you have taken so that you can check how well you are adhering to your treatment plan. There are multiple ways to track your medications.
Once you have setup Reminders, DoseSage will send you timely banner notifications visible even when the app is closed, and on the phone screen when the phone is locked. These banners are Persistent or Temporary based on how your banner notifications have been set up on your phone. You can change the banner style on your phone in settings to your personal preference.
Once you click on the banner notification, DoseSage will take you to a screen where you can record your medication as Taken or Skipped. If you must reschedule taking your medication, you can do that too on this screen. If you take multiple medicines at the same time, you can click on the button Take All/Skip All and with one button click respond to the notification.
Another approach is to click the Notification Bell icon on the Menu bar at the top. Select the notification that you want to act on. Click on that notification. DoseSage will take you to a screen where you can record your medication as Taken or Skipped. If you must reschedule taking your medication, you can do that too in this screen. If you take multiple medicines at the same time, you can click on the button Take All/Skip All and with one button click respond to the notification.
A third option is to do a swipe left or click on the double left arrows on the Medication Name from your Home screen. Using this approach, you can record medicines as Taken that have been marked as Missed since you may have taken the medication on time however, you were unable to record it right away. When you open DoseSage, you can see which medications have been missed and you can take the appropriate actions.
You can use this approach also if you want to record or track medications on an individual basis. For example, you want to stop taking your beta blocker 24 hour before your stress test, you can mark it as skipped and specify the reason for doing so.
When you open the DoseSage App, you see your medication adherence for Today. You can see your previous medications tracking history by clicking on the Clock icon on the Home Screen. If you want to see the history for the last 7 days click on The Weekly. If you want to see the history for any previous month, click on Monthly and choose the appropriate month by clicking on the Funnel icon on the top Menu.
To edit your medication history, navigate to the medication history screen. Select the medication history card that needs to be edited. Either do a left swipe or click on the double left arrow. You can edit your medication history on the new screen. Save your edits.
You can start using DoseSage as a guest user. But it is recommended that you register so that we can restore your data when you have accidentally deleted your App or are switching to a new device. Click on the profile icon on the top menu to enter your registration details.. An email will be sent to your email ID. You can complete the registration process by clicking on Verify Email button in your email.
Currently, the App only supports a single user profile to be HIPAA compliant.
Navigate to the Settings screen by clicking the on More "..." button. You can choose your font size from the Settings screen
You can choose your custom notification sound from the Settings screen.
Grace Period is used to figure out when a medicine should be marked as missed. The default grace period is to set to 60 minutes. If you change it to 30 minutes and if you didn’t take your medicine within 30 minutes of scheduled time, then DoseSage marks it as a missed medicine.
You can clear all your DoseSage notifications by clicking on the Clear all button on the Notifications screen within DoseSage App.
DoseSage App recognizes if you are accessing the App after an install. As a registered user you can provide your email ID. An OTP will be sent to your registered email. You can confirm your identity by entering the OTP you received. DoseSage will restore your last saved data.
Yes, your data is safe. It is not shared with any 3rd parties.
